Registered Recolight recycling point

Evergreen is now a registered Recolight recycling point. This means we are part of a new scheme trying to reduce the environmental impact of fluorescent light tubes. Although it seems a relatively niche area of recycling, over 100 million fluorescent light tubes are sold in the UK alone every year.

As a Recolight recycling point, Evergreen is now able to dispose of these tubes in a manner which doesn’t damage the environment, with the tubes' materials being recovered so they can be used again. Examples of this re-use include the crushed glass, which can potentially be used to make new lamps, and the normally damaging mercury, which can also be used in new lamps or other industrial processes.
